MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – A trolleybus of the Belkommunmash company is being tested in Cordoba, one of large Argentinean cities, the company told BelTA. The trolleybus has been designed especially for Argentina. Its major feature is that the vehicle can work without wires. A special diesel-generator set makes it possible for a trolleybus to run nearly 200km without a trolley line. The novelty aroused bid interest abroad. Designers also envisaged an additional cooling system for high temperatures. The test will run for at least four months. In case of positive assessment, Cordoba authorities will decide upon ordering a batch of vehicles. The company’s vigorous marketing policy helped it to enter the Latin American market. Belkommunmash hosted the first international conference on electric transport consumers in September 2009. Attending the conference were partners from Russian towns and representatives of non-CIS countries. nBelkommunmash was founded in 1973. The company employs more than 1,600 professionals. The company was reincorporated into an open joint stock company in 2010. Belkommunmash-produced trolleybuses are exported to more than 30 regions of the Russian Federation from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok and also to Ukraine, Mongolia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Moldova and Bulgaria.
