VERKHNEDVINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – The Dutch company Campina is showing great interest in the Belarusian dairy industry, Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy told Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko during the tour to Verkhedvinsk Creamery on 21 July, BelTA has learnt. The minister noted that after Belarusian dairy products penetrated foreign markets, foreign investors took a serious interest in Belarus’ dairy industry. Campina from the Netherlands is one of them. It operates on the Russian market under the brands Fruttis and Nezhny. Mikhail Rusy briefed the President on the state of efforts to set up a dairy at the Savushkin Product company. The instruction to establish a national dairy company by the end of the year was given by the President in late June as he visited Brest Oblast. As for the milk processing industry, the minister informed that this year milk processing companies are expected to receive six million tonnes of milk to produce 158,000 tonnes of cheese, 110,000 tonnes of butter, 120,000 tonnes of fat-free and regular milk, 2-2.2 million tonnes of whole milk products, the rest will be sold abroad.
