The third festival of the Belarusians living in Moldova “Belarus is my homeland” will be held in Chisinau in September 2008, BelTA learnt from Counselor of the Belarusian Embassy in Moldova Dmitry Gorbachev. Participating in the festival are the National Children’s and Youth Centre of the Education Ministry of Belarus and the National Children’s and Youth Centre of the Ministry of Education and Youth of Moldova. The programme of the festival is being currently elaborated. Among the traditional events of the festival are the exhibitions of books by Belarusian authors, photo exhibitions, concerts, meetings with Belarusian writers. All this gives the Moldavians an opportunity to learn more about Belarus, its culture, spiritual heritage, traditions, the current social and economic situation in the country. Events like this are vitally important because they help find out more about the Belarusians living abroad, about their interests, needs and expectations.
