In May 2008, Belarus will calculate an import duty on raw sugar proceeding from the price of $276,46 per tonne. As BelTA was told in the Economy Ministry, the average monthly price is determined as the average price on the New York Mercantile Exchange in the previous three months – January, February and March 2008. In April it was $259,37 per tonne. The Economy Ministry will present this information to the State Customs Committee by April 15.
