Public administration academies of Belarus and other CIS states to develop cooperation
MINSK, March 18 (BelTA) – Public administration academies of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have signed a declaration of cooperation in training top managers for governmental agencies in Eurasia, BelTA learnt from Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Morozevich. The document was signed during the 2nd Astana Economic Forum ‘Economic Security in Eurasia in the System of Global Risks.’ Attending the forum were experts of the French National School of Public Administration and London School of Economics. According to Anatoly Morozevich, the session of representatives of public administration academies pointed out the necessity to step up integration and sign a document which would help address common issues. The declaration is aimed at establishing closer cooperation between Eurasian educational centres that train personnel for governmental agencies, and carrying out joint research and implementing projects dealing with present day public administration and local governance. Anatoly Morozevich said that global economic changes require new approaches; top managers cannot rely on the solutions employed some 30-40 years ago. The whole world is moving to innovations, the economy of knowledge, he underlined. The Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of Belarus cooperates with universities from 17 countries. The Academy holds joint conferences, conducts joint research in the area of public administration, and organizes exchanges of students. An association of such academies is to be set up in the near future. It will be a leading scientific centre that will train top managers.
