Strictly legal presidential election in Belarus, Lukashenko vows
MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will do his best to make sure that the forthcoming presidential election will be in strict compliance with national laws and international standards. Alexander Lukashenko made the relevant statement as he received credentials from foreign ambassadors on 25 October, BelTA has learned. The Belarusian head of state told the foreign diplomats that the country’s political and economic life is open to them. “You will be able to see everything with your own eyes,” said Alexander Lukashenko. The President said he hopes that the ambassadors will be benevolent and unprejudiced observers of the processes, which are going on in the country. “Let’s work together to bring peoples closer and to enhance long-term ties between our countries,” he said. “Our country is rapidly growing. The liberalization of the economy, creative and business initiatives are particularly topical today. We work hard to create a favorable investment climate in Belarus. Today Belarus tries to master new technologies and access know-how technologies,” said the President. In his words, cooperation in science and contemporary industrial research are part of Belarus’ dialogue with the international community. Alexander Lukashenko was convinced that the dialogue will develop in a constructive manner and will rely on principles of good-neighborly relations and accord. Belarus is open to mutually beneficial cooperation with any country. “We are interested in economic partnership. We are ready to initiate joint projects and provide comprehensive support to any good endeavors,” stressed the Belarusian head of state.
