Ukraine to provide transportation of Venezuelan oil arriving in its ports
KYIV, 19 October (BelTA) – Ukraine will provide transportation of all Venezuelan oil arriving in the Black Sea ports for Belarus, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said in a joint press conference together with his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez in Kiev on 18 October. The Ukrainian head of state noted that all the issues regarding the transportation of Venezuelan oil to Belarus via Ukraine would be settled jointly in a trilateral format. Viktor Yanukovych confirmed that soon Ukraine plans to transport the oil coming from Venezuela to Belarus via the Odessa-Brody and Druzhba pipelines. “Today we are transporting it in tanks, but very soon we will start pipeline supplies. This is our plan which we are going to fulfill together with Venezuela and Belarus,” the President of Ukraine stressed. He also emphasized that this kind of cooperation with Belarus does not contradict the interests of Russia and does not damage the Ukrainian-Russian relations.
