Scientists suggest infrared radiation for heating temple in Glubokoye

Scientists suggest using infrared radiation for heating the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God Cathedral in the town of Glubokoye, BelTA learnt from Mikhail Cherepkovsky, Head of the Ideology Department of the Glubokoye Region Executive Committee. The possibility of using modern energy-saving technologies in the XVII century temple is considered by Belarusian and Lithuanian specialists. According to Mikhail Cherepkovsky, such heating solutions are used in temples in Europe and they are safe for valuable frescoes, as the indoors air temperature remains stable — around 8-10 degrees above zero. Now specialists are preparing the technical and economic feasibility study for the project. The Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God Cathedral is one of the largest temples in Belarus. It can welcome 3,000 people at a time. Its history dates back to the Carmelite Order in 1639.
