Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on 26 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The end of hostilities in Ukraine is not long in coming. There will be no war, military action, hostilities - call it whatever you want - in Ukraine in 2026. If an agreement is not reached by the end of June (plus or minus two or three weeks), at least two more regions are likely to be lost,” Serghei Banari said. According to the analyst, this will call into question Ukraine's economic prospects going forward. The government will simply not have the resources to rebuild the completely destroyed economy.
