Heads of top financial audit agencies of Belarus, China meet in Beijing
Matters of bilateral cooperation were discussed as Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov met with Auditor General of the National Audit Office of the People's Republic of China Hou Kai in Beijing, the committee's press service told BelTA.
Vasily Gerasimov and Hou Kai discussed matters of mutual interest relating to audit activities. Close attention was paid to oversight over the fulfillment of agreements between the two countries.
Apart from that, the possibility of arranging joint events was considered as well as possible participation of specialists in international educational programs.
The possibility of arranging joint events and of sharing experience and best practices is stipulated by the memorandum of cooperation that Belarus' State Control Committee and China's National Audit Office signed during the Belarus president's visit to China in March 2023.
On 17 October Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov also met with Zhao Shiyong, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), member of the National Supervisory Commission of China. Matters of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the possibility of interaction between Belarusian and Chinese government agencies in fight against corruption. It was noted that the exchange of information will help forestall corruption. Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed.
Belarus' State Control Committee and China's National Supervisory Commission signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2018.
