At a reception on behalf of the President of Belarus on Old New Year's Day, President Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that the quality of life is not only related to the economy and production, but first of all depends on the people themselves, BELTA reports.

Natalya Eismont recalled that two topics – resonant for society – were discussed: an amnesty and improving measures of criminal liability for certain types of crimes, particularly less serious crimes. Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov and Chairman of the Supreme Court Valentin Sukalo reported to the President. “The Head of State supported the approaches of the speakers on the main topics discussed today,” said Natalya Eismont.

The state sees and appreciates those who live and work for the benefit of Belarusians and their country.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the importance of preserving the cultural sovereignty of the people of Belarus. He said this at the ceremony of awarding the prize "For Spiritual Revival," a special award for art and culture figures and the prize "Belarusian Sport Olympus," BelTA informs.

On January 8, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 13, which creates additional conditions for the effective functioning of the Business and Cultural Complex of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, BELTA reports citing the press service of the head of state.

It is necessary to fill the peaceful and quiet Belarusian life with high quality. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko while visiting the Church of the Holy Prophet John the Baptist near Minsk on Christmas Day, BelTA informs.
