15 Vitebsk oblast companies to turn into joint-stock companies in 2008

The Vitebsk oblast is expected to complete the transformation of its 15 companies with the total staff of about 1.500 specialists into joint-stock companies before the end of 2008, BelTA learnt from Svetlana Lukashevich, Deputy Director of the Vitebsk territorial fund Vitebskoblimuschestvo. The companies are reformed in compliance with the 2008-2010 plan on transformation into a joint-stock company approved by Resolution No 1021 of July 14, 2008 by the Council of Ministers. Labour collectives of the companies favoured the transformation. Today commissions on transformation jointly with the Vitebskoblimuschestvo specialists complete the estimation of the property complex, check the account of the non-movable assets and prepare packages of reformation documents. An array of subsidiaries will merge with the leading economic agents and will be transferred into a joint-stock company as a one property complex. Henceforth if a necessity of preserving a status of a juridical entity arises, unitary companies can be set up within such subsidiaries, Svetlana Lukashevich said. Among the companies that are due to be reformed is the Izmeritel Company (Novopolotsk) and the Vitebsk Fruit and Vegetable Factory. The transformation of the Vitebsk Fruit and Vegetable Factory into a joint-stock company enters the final stage. The company has developed a two-year business plan on attracting a domestic investor at the stage of the transformation. Every transformed company creates necessary conditions for attracting efficient proprietors, Svetlana Lukashevich said. The 2008-2010 plan on transformation into a joint-stock company has covered 52 companies in the Vitebsk oblast.
