The State Border Committee of Belarus will launch a web resource to cover the relay race that will go along the borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The relay race is timed to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The web resource will become operational as part of the website of the Belarusian border service on 3 February, the press service of the Polotsk border unit told BelTA.

The relay race began simultaneously in the Belarusian city of Brest and the Russian city of Murmansk on 2 February. Taking part in the relay race are school students, war veterans, young people, local residents, and border servicemen. The border service of Mongolia takes part in the event as well. A relay race will be arranged in Mongolia as a token of respect for the Soviet soldiers and officers, who fought during World War Two.

Military patriotic events will be arranged to follow the progress of the race. Taking part in the events will be military and civil personnel, border service veterans, young people, cadets of military education institutions, creative groups of border service units.

The relay will be handed over to representatives of the border service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia at the junction of the borders of Belarus, Russia, and Latvia in Verkhnedvinsk District, Vitebsk Oblast on 18 February.

The relay race will end at Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow on 28 May.
