Bella Dvina partakers to sign declaration on cooperation

VITEBSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Belarusian and Latvian participants of the transboundary project Bella Dvina – Crossing the Borders, Opening the Culture and Enjoying the Scenery of the Western Dvina/Daugava region are set to sign a declaration on tourism cooperation at an international conference in Polotsk on 8 July, BelTA learnt from the department for physical education, sports and tourism of the Polotsk town hall. The international conference, Tourist region Bella Dvina as an example of Belarus-Latvia successful transboundary cooperation, will become the final event of the project. The participants of the conference will assess the significance of the project for tourism sustainable development in the Vitebsk Oblast and the border regions of Latvia. The conference will also focus on further cooperation in implementing the tourist potential of the Belarusian and Latvian regions, the participants of the Bella Dvina transboundary cooperation network. A new office of the Polotsk tourist and information center will be inaugurated in Polotsk on the same day. The center together with other seven tourist and information centers set up in the regions will gather and provide the information on tourist resources, products and services of the Belarusian-Latvian region Bella Dvina. The Belarusian-Latvian project Bella Dvina is co-financed with assistance of the European Commission as part of the programme “Baltic Sea region – INTERREG IIIB — Good Neighbourly Programme – INTERREG IIIA – Priority Latvia - Lithuania-Belarus (South)”. Its participants are the Polotsk town hall, the Beshenkovichi, Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, Gorodok, Miory, Rossony, Sharkovshchina regions and six regions of Latvia. The partners of the project are Latgale Agency for Regional Development (Latvia), the Vitebsk Center for Regional Research and Development, others.
