Employers of Vitebsk and Kaluga oblasts sign cooperation agreement

VITEBSK, 19 May (BelTA) – The agreement between employers’ associations of the Vitebsk Oblast and the Kaluga Oblast (Russian Federation) will help the regional companies develop investment cooperation and implement joint projects, Sergei Potekhin, Director General of the Kaluga Association of Industrialists and Businessmen, told reporters in Vitebsk. A number of companies of the Belarusian and Russian regions have already established cooperation in the energy-saving area. The signed agreement will allow the businessmen of the two regions to intensify the industrial cooperation, provide juridical assistance and legal support for the investment activity. The Kaluga Association of Industrialists and Businessmen intends to intensify the work on integration of the sci-tech potential of the two regions, initiate the cooperation in the research area. According to the document, employers’ associations of the Belarusian and Russian oblasts will promote the mutually beneficial ties between companies to develop production cooperation, sci-tech cooperation, trade and economic relations. The associations will attach special attention to introduction of innovation developments and technologies, participation in joint projects and programs, experience exchange. The agreement will allow the two sides to settle problems between the companies of the two regions, organize business sessions and exhibitions. “It will give a regular impetus to development of business relations between the two oblasts,” Vladimir Turavinov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Union of Employers, noted during the ceremony. The signing of the cooperation agreement has become the final result of the joint session of the council of the Vitebsk Oblast Union of Employers and the Presidium of the Smolensk Regional Association of Employers. Participants of the session discussed the prospects of the joint work, the cooperation within the framework of the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, the trade and economic cooperation between the Belarusian and Russian regions. Taking part in the session were more than 60 people including heads of business associations from the Vitebsk, Smolensk, Kaluga and Moscow oblasts, directors of companies from Belarusian and Russian regions. The participants of the session visited the Vitebsk Carpets Company, took part in a business meeting there.
