Israeli diplomat: Belarus-Israel medical cooperation has good prospects

There are good prospects in the medical cooperation of Belarus and Israel because it relies on the solid ties between hospitals and specialists, the Charge d'Affaires of Israel to Belarus told BelTA at the Belarusian national conference with international participation "Modern medical technologies in solving the problem of infertile couples" on 20 November.

"There are many good medical specialists in Belarus. Many doctors who are now working in Israeli hospitals were born in Belarus or graduated from Belarusian universities. Therefore, numerous ties have been established between our hospitals and specialists," the diplomat said.

She emphasized that she had come to Vitebsk to take part in the conference and visit the center of women's health opened in Vitebsk thanks to the close cooperation between the doctors of the two countries and the investments of the Belarusian-Israeli tandem of founders.

According to the diplomat, dentistry is a very promising area of cooperation too. "Dentistry technologies are in demand in Belarus; Israel has huge experience in the field and exports technologies to Belarus. The cooperation in this field is increasingly vibrant," she said.

Speaking about other promising avenues of cooperation between the two states, she stressed that these are, first of all, agricultural technologies. "There are good prospects and benefits both for Belarus and Israel where the industry is well-developed. Of course, it is essential to advance hi-tech cooperation. I have recently visited the technology park in Minsk because we are doing our best to attract Israeli investors to Belarus and to promote joint startups here," the diplomat said.

The Israeli representative said that this is the first visit to Vitebsk for her. "Unfortunately, this visit is very short. I will only take part in the conference and attend the opening of the center. After that I will immediately return to Minsk. But I will definitely come again to learn more about the city and its residents," the diplomat concluded.

The conference at the Vitebsk State Medical University is attended by the leading specialists from Belarus, Israel, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, and Russia.
