Lodz businessmen offer setting up knitwear companies in Vitebsk oblast

VITEBSK, March 19 (BelTA) – Polish businessmen are interested in setting up light industry joint ventures. Representatives of the Lodzkie Wojewodztwo brought business proposals to the international business forum Investment Initiatives of the Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learnt from Janusz Baranowski, head of the business undertakings department and head of the delegation. Polish businessmen are ready to implement the projects concerning the production of knitwear and hosiery. They are to get familiar with the production base of the KIM Company in Vitebsk and Orsha-based Dynamo-programme. Moreover, Polish businessmen are interested in setting up wood-working companies in small towns. The contacts between Lodz and Vitebsk businessmen were boosted after business forums took place in Poland in late 2008, BelTA learnt from Valentin Tsvetkov, head of the business undertakings and consumer market department of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee. According to him, the interest of Polish companies shows solid intention to develop economic relations with Belarus.
