Private companies of Vitebsk oblast invest more than Br96bn in production in 2007

In 2007 private companies of the Vitebsk oblast invested more than Br96bn in the development of production and created over 14,000 new jobs, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Andreichenko said at an award ceremony of the oblast-wide contest “Best Entrepreneur of the Year” on March 27. The small business sector has been increasing its contribution to the economic development of the oblast. In 2007, small and medium-sized enterprises increased their output by more than 24%, consumer goods by 30%. Their exports exceeded $200 million. More than 60,000 people re engaged in the private sector. Owing to the privately-held companies, the provision of the population with essential goods has been improving. The network of consumer service enterprises has been growing in rural regions. Vladimir Andreichnko congratulated the prizewinners and presented them with the honorary badge “ Star of the Vitebsk Region” and also with diplomas and memorable souvenirs. The list of winners features Liubava-Lux from Novopolotsk (best producer of consumer goods), Vinreal from the Vitebsk region (the best food producer), Production Association Energokomplekt from Vitebsk (industrial goods), Ligmond from Novopolotsk (construction industry), Novopolotsk-based Novointerinevst (public catering), Sport-Service from Vitebsk (trade), Simurg from Vitebsk (medical activity), Fortex –Water Technologies from Vitebsk (best company with foreign investments), Vladimir and Danila Company Vitebsk (best exporter), Ameli TD from Vitebsk (best organizer of new jobs), MegaEurotex (service industry), Befana (travel industry), Priorbank (bank services for small business).
