Saxony to host Days of Vitebsk Oblast in April 2010

VITEBSK, 10 February (BelTA) – The Days of the Vitebsk Oblast will be held in Saxony (Leipzig, Germany) in April 2010, BelTA learnt from Director General of the Vitebsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Valery Butkevich. The highlight of the event will be the presentation of investment projects and economic opportunities of Vitebsk and the Vitebsk Oblast. The Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs of Northern Saxony are to hold a business forum for Vitebsk and German companies. Over 60 companies and business structures of Saxony and other German regions have shown interest to take part in the business program of the forum, Valery Butkevich said. There are plans to arrange a meeting between the administration of the Vitebsk Oblast and Leipzig, as well as business talks between the Vitebsk Oblast delegation and the administration of the Leipzig Trade Fair and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program of the Days of the Vitebsk Oblast in Saxony is being finalized now. An arrangement has been reached that the German business circles will return a visit to the Vitebsk Oblast to continue the talks, discuss promising cooperation avenues and strengthen new ties. The visit of the German delegation to the Vitebsk Oblast is scheduled for the summer of this year. The forum is organized by the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, the Vitebsk Office of the BCCI under the auspices of the BCCI Office in Germany.
