Some 34 countries to participate in 19th Slavonic Bazaar International Festival

VITEBSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Around 5, 000 artistes from 34 countries will take part in the 19th Slavonic Bazaar International Festival which will be held in Belarusian Vitebsk. Representatives of Montenegro, Panama and Cuba will participate in the festival for the first time, Festival Director Rodion Bass told a press conference on 24 June, BelTA has learnt. According to Rodion Bass, the Vitebsk Festival 2010 will include 70 creative projects, involve 16 stages of the city. Some 19 concerts will be given on the stage of the Vitebsk Summer Amphitheater. Famous singers such as Nikolai Baskov, Larisa Dolina, Dmitry Khvorostovsky, Yuri Antonov, Stas Mikhailov, Elena Vaenga, Inna Afanasieva, Pesnyary and Syabry bands, Taisia Povalyi, Thomas Anders, Tomas N'evergreen, Helena Vondrackova will take part in the opening of Slavonic Bazaar 2010. On 10 July, the concert, Eurovision of Past Years, will be held in renovated Victory Square of Vitebsk. On 14 July, Victory Square will host a concert of Dima Bilan, the winner of Eurovision 2008. According to Rodion Bass, this year the Vitebsk Summer Amphitheater will host recitals of foreign pop-stars for the first time. Thomas Andres (Germany) will give his recital on 8 July, Toto Cutugno (Italy) – on 12 June. Taking part in the Vitebsk 2010 International Song Contest will be 19 contesters from 19 countries. Belarus will be represented by soloist of the Gomel Philharmonic Hall Denis Vershenko. The international jury panel will be chaired by Ukrainian singer Taisia Povaliy. Taking part in the 8th International Children Music Contest “VITEBSK-2010” will be 22 contesters from 19 countries. Belarus will be represented by Zlata Larchenko and Anya Zaitseva. The 19th Slavonic Bazaar International Festival will be held in Vitebsk on 9-15 July.
