Swedish photographers exhibit their works in Vitebsk

VITEBSK, February 18 (BelTA) – The works of young photographers from Sweden are showcased in Vitebsk for the first time. The exhibition titled “Balancing Between” opened at the Modern Art Centre on February 18. The exposition is composed of 57 best works of the graduates of Kulturama Photography School, the leading school of performing arts in Scandinavia. Black and white and coloured pictures of different format and techniques expose the border between the real and unreal. A photo is always attached to certain time and place. But using modern techniques the painters managed to break this nexus and create unreal images based on mundane realities. Photographer and head teacher at Kulturama Photography School Misha Pedan told BelTA that the exhibition is a joint project of the Photography Centre, Kulturama Photography School and the Swedish Institute. Belarusian photographers also took part in this thematic exhibition. The main achievement of the forum is the rich experience that Belarusian and Swedish young people got during the preparation for the exhibition. The Balancing Between exposition is held during the Days of Swedish-Belarusian Photography in Vitebsk. The exhibition runs through March 9.
