Advanced technologies are essential for defense capability, sovereignty and independence of the state, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting to discuss the prospects for the Belarusian microelectronics industry development on 14 February, BelTA has learned.
"Once again we need to examine the performance of microelectronics, one of the most important sectors of the Belarusian manufacturing industry. This is not for the sake of showing off our capabilities. This is because microelectronics has become very important all over the world today. The electronics plays a very important role for the future of both Belarus and Russia. Nowadays, advanced technologies guarantee the defense capability, sovereignty and independence of the state," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
The head of state remarked that Belarus is one of the few countries with strong expertise in the development and manufacturing of a wide range of electronic components, and in the production of unique technological equipment for the industry enterprises.
